The Zen Art of Navigation

Typical business / apartment block.
They build up here.  Those are apartments on the 3rd floor up, and a rooftop garden.
This is a legitimate street over here.

This is pretty funny if you've been here for any amount of time.

More exploring, but less to explain I guess.  I've been developing a strategy for navigation in the city.  I find a general area that I want to explore, and I go and end up getting lost in it.  The next day I come back, and get a little less lost.  There's a lot of little differences to get used to - sidewalks will narrow so that only one person can walk at a time, so people will just walk on the street next to it.  Other times the street will just disappear.  Lanes branch off from streets at unexpected angles, and these are legitimate streets in their own right with homes, businesses and restaurants.  Finding an address can be very tricky until you get the hang of it.

Traffic is kind of intimidating - scooters rule the road, ride up on the sidewalk and weave between buses and pedestrians crossing the street.  Cabs are everywhere, and pass within inches of you when you're walking.  Traffic here is pretty orderly compared to places like south Asia, but it definitely feels like a competition at times.
