This is the view from my bunk in the dorm room. My new home!
In the stairwell at the hostel.
Backwards tag in the window. Bad ass.
Stepping outside the hostel.
Chiang Kai Sheck Memorial Park. I think this is the Theatre Hall.
70m tall, and with 89 steps to signify the Generallisimo's age when he died. Tres modest.
In the gardens at the park.
So delicious, but surprisingly not green.
MRT Station.
I had some real trouble uploading photos, so these next few posts are going to come fast & quick. I moved into the hostel on the Sunday after I landed. It's definitely frayed around the edges (rats are a common sight, and I actually just got over a bout with bed bugs, but the less said about that, the better), but super affordable and smack dab in the middle of the old town center. It actually rained for two days straight when I first moved in, and left me stranded inside without an umbrella. There was even a tiny earthquake! More of a tremble than a tremor. At first I thought it was the guy in the bed below, until I realized that I was alone in the room.
One of my favorite things about cks memorial is the different windows along the wall. I love giggling at the different patterns and running down the street trying to spot the same window
